Fast-track complex SAP cloud migrations during SAP S/4HANA transformation projects

COVID-19 has changed everything. In six months, the global market has matured ten years in terms of embracing digital as the #1 channel. Deficiencies in supply chains and operational resiliency were fully exposed. While a 5% burst of technology spending during the first three months of the pandemic was directed to remote work enablement and security, focus is now squarely on the digital transformation of the front, middle, and back office. Organizations once considering the digital core concept are now all in. With SAP S/4HANA migrations at the top of CIO discussions, this can’t go without the importance of a rapid migration to the cloud with near-zero downtime. The flexibility needed within the SAP infrastructure and ensuring Digital ROI (DROI) is not just a goal…it’s a mandate. Attend this session to:

  • Gain the SAP S/4HANA landscape insights you need to make intelligent transformation decisions
  • Learn how you can move to the cloud faster with near-zero downtime
  • Explore additional options available to optimize your SAP cloud workloads

The ‘Why’: The key to unlocking the value in digital transformation

SAP’s 2027 extended deadline on SAP S/4HANA migration has lit a fire under many businesses that had long been deferring the move. Now it is a priority.  However, SAP S/4HANA is only good as the value you want to get out of it, and too often businesses are choosing to make the jump for a technology upgrade. This is a major problem, because for all the new benefits and innovations that SAP S/4HANA brings to the table, these simply cannot be attained solely by performing a technology upgrade.  Worse, an SAP S/4HANA migration project can actually result in negative ROI if you haven’t performed a careful upfront analysis on what exactly you need to get out of it.

Enterprises can’t let the tail wag the dog here. The end goal isn’t to migrate to SAP S/4HANA just to migrate or have another digitalization project; the end goal is to unlock new business values. That means step one in any digital transformation is to identify the “why” – why you’re transforming.  Identifying that “why” informs every other decision in the process, but so many enterprises skip this step focusing rather on the “how” and the “what”. This session delves into why the “why” is so integral to unlocking the value in digital transformation, marrying that “why” to something measurable and how asking yourself this question – or not doing so – can have tangible impacts on the shape, timeline and ROI of any transformation project.

Attend this session to:

  • Understand deployment options beyond the traditional greenfield or brownfield approaches
  • Lean how to deliver SAP S/4HANA transformation, innovation, simplification, and modernization with minimal business disruption
  • Gain insights into your current SAP environment and identifying migration gaps

SAPinsider Technology Executive Forum Magazine | 2021 | Issue 1

On the Cover

Business demands have been clarified over the past year and a half: Planning cycles have been dramatically shortened. Digitization has been accelerated. And there is a need for constant and immediate views into customer demand and supply chains. As a result, many businesses have had to make significant operational shifts, and many of these changes have been enabled by technology.

The inaugural edition of Technology Executive Forum magazine focuses on stories about the people behind the technology — IT leaders driving transformation within their organizations. These leaders say that visibility, agility, flexibility, and efficiency have become cornerstones of their strategy and technology architectures. They have found these elements to be essential to push for change and support new business models and processes. The featured thought leadership article in this issue explains how SAP is supporting organizations’ need to prioritize innovation agendas with its RISE with SAP offering. We hear from executives of companies like Ingevity, New England Biolabs, and Thames Water about how their use of technologies like automation, artificial intelligence, and machine learning — as well as investments in SAP S/4HANA and cloud migration projects — are helping to drive business outcomes. We also learn about how these leaders had to change their management approach to accommodate remote workforces.

Additional articles and features in this edition include:

  • How one county council is modernizing technology and its SAP landscape to deliver more to its residents;
  • A look into SAPinsider’s recent research, including where SAP customers plan to reinvest in the coming year; and
  • How one oil and gas company is transforming into an integrated energy conglomerate.
